Matteo Porta holds a post-secondary degree (Laurea Magistrale) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Genoa and a certificate in energy efficiency.

Career

Matteo Porta works as Senior Engineer at the Industry Technology and Innovation Business Unit of RINA Consulting since February 2015. He is responsible and involved in EU-funded research projects on smart grids, distributed generation, and renewable energy source integration.

Prior to this role, he worked as Research Assistant at the University of Genoa for 10 years.

Statement:

Thanks to the PLANHEAT tool, cities across Europe can easily develop plans towards decarbonisation and energy efficiency. In particular, thanks to the planning and simulation modules, the users can go into details in the planning of districts, until to the detail of every single building. The bottom-up approach allows simulating the configuration of future district in terms of energy systems and assessing their sustainability verifying local sources availability.
