Currency and credit cards
The currency of Austria is the euro (EUR). Major credit cards (VISA, American Express, Diners and Euro/Master Card) are accepted in most shops, hotels and many restaurants. It is therefore recommended to inform of this possibility of payment before you order.
The organisers will not accept liability for individual medical, travel or personal insurance. It is highly recommended that all participants carry proper health and travel insurance.
Invitation letter for visa applications
International participants may need a letter of invitation from the congress organisers in order to obtain a visa for entry into Austria. The organisers will not be able to contact or intervene with any Austrian embassy or consulate office abroad on your behalf. This procedure is intended to assist participants who need to obtain a visa or permission to attend the 36th EHP Congress and is not an official invitation covering fees and/or any other expenses or financial support from the congress.
Please start the visa application process as early as possible and at least six weeks prior to your departure. The organisers are not to be held responsible for the outcome of your visa application.
All participants must register and pay the required registration fees before requesting an official letter of invitation. The registration fees are refundable should the visa application be denied. All refund requests will have to be received before the congress, by e-mail, fax or letter. No refunds will be made for cancellations received during or after the congress.
As in all major cities and congress venues, people should take care of their personal belongings.
